Relatively little research has been conducted for physical activity promotion in persons with intellectual disabilities potentially due to the lack of accuracy of physical activity measures compared to the general population and other persons with disabilities. In this symposium, current status of PA assessments and measurement issues for persons with intellectual disabilities will be addressed based on scientific evidence as well as future research directions.
