While “quality instruction” has become a catch-phrase for improving academic outcomes, there is minimal PE research. With data driving curriculum decisions, it is imperative that PE instructors, to be recognized as more than “gym teachers,” effectively use data to support their work. Data drawn using mixed methodology and collected from more than twenty districts over four years will be presented to highlight changes and areas of greatest need in terms of physical education programming.
