600 Literacy and Math PE

For the last four years at North Trail Elementary struggling readers and math students have shown phenomenal gains on standardized tests (5X the national average and 2-3X their peers' average) through a morning class that imbeds cognitive challenges in vigorous physical activities and games. The daily 15 minute classes have accomodated anywhere from 25 to 45 4th and 5th grade students and immediately precedes their regularly scheduled reading or math classes.
