645 Swimming for Lives: Elementary Water Safety & Swimming Program

Saturday, April 2, 2011: 7:30 AM-8:30 AM
Convention Center: Room 24ABC
AAPAR/Council for Aquatic Professionals
Speaker: Michael Wayne Kersey, Indian Land Elementary, Indian Land, SC
As physical educators, we want our elementary students to develop an appreciation for life-long physical activity, right? We need to make teaching swimming and water safety a priority. Fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1 to 14 years old. During this session, a ten day comprehensive swim program that can be implemented at any elementary school (even those that do not have a swimming pool) will be presented.
