Research shows that the sport environment can facilitate a culture of violence and sexual assault. When coaches espouse attitudes that encourage or condone violence and sexual assault, their student-athletes may adopt a similar world-view. Coaches can serve as a preventive resource with their influence over their athletes. Attendees of this session will learn about coaches’ beliefs about violence and sexual assault, with implications for how they can play a preventative role.
