Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency cardiovascular care (ECC) guidelines are systemically evaluated every five years via the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), an international consortium of the world’s resuscitation council representatives. The American Heart Association and American Red Cross, with other international agencies also systemically evaluate first aid guidelines based upon the current science. This session examines the new 2010 CPR, ECC, and first aid treatment recommendations and the interpretation of these changes.
