Creativity is a wonderful part of dance and physical education. In the first session, teachers learn how to aid students in making dances inspired by storybooks. The process of abstraction--going beyond literal interpretation or “acting out the story”--with the goal of a more expressive form, can be achieved through the elements of size, shape, and beyond. In the second session, this theme continues by adding writing, music, costumes and props. Planning, teaching, assessing are key.
