Obesity remains a major health threat among Americans. In this session, one study reveals the problem of extreme weight loss practices among adolescents. Another study found that weight control programs and protocols may need to be different for overweight and obese women as obese women were significantly more likely to engage in unhealthy weight loss behaviors. Finally, Graf and colleagues confirmed that nutrition intervention incorporated into a weight management-based curriculum improved knowledge and physical measurements.
