The existence of health disparities is a systemic problem suggested to be a long-term result of social prejudice. Educating and empowering communities to take action through social justice, therefore, can be used to help decrease prevalence of health disparities. The purpose of the session is to provide instances where social justice provides a framework to address health disparities and provide a forum to discuss opportunities to incorporate a social justice into programs or practice.
