Coaches often suggest that sport builds character, however, some tend to focus only on winning. By practicing this philosophy, educators and coaches may overlook the leadership and ethical lessons that sports can teach. This session will examine the importance of 1) a conceptual ethics’ education pedagogy and curriculum; 2) examine current education practices relating to ethics education and sport, 3) and offer suggestions for improving the current character education philosophy in sport and education programs.
