The purpose of this presentation is to address the need for active learning or open discussion among students on topics in sexuality education. Advantages and overcoming barriers of using small group discussions in the sexuality classroom will be addressed. Types of discussion formats, triggers or sources of information and examples of sexuality discussion exercises will be presented. In addition, the participants may practice developing appropriate discussion activities for use with their targeted students.
