Television’s "Dancing with the Stars" has shined a spotlight on ballroom dance, promoting it as a viable option for physical education and after-school programs. This active session will highlight a competitive ballroom dance unit used in an urban high school. Program participants, even dance beginners, will learn basic swing, waltz, tango, and meringue sequences, exploring key instruction and assessment techniques for starting or improving a dance unit or program in elementary, middle, or high schools.
