Coaches are the primary “motor learning specialists” from whom athletes learn. While researchers continually update “best practices” in teaching and coaching, coaching demands often limit a coach’s ability to stay current with these updates. Participants are asked to arrive with a specific group of athletes and a “movement problem” in mind. Motor learning research will be presented, participants will explore the implications of this research on their coaching and design and discuss application “First Steps.”
