In the fields of health, physical education, recreation, sports, dance and related areas it is of historical significance that AAHPERD and Springfield College celebrate their 125 year anniversary together. These two nationally and internationally recognized educational institutions have been irrevocably intertwined since their formative years.
In recognition of this shared 125th Anniversary, AAHPERD and Springfield College are honoring the contributions of the early leaders of both institutions: Luther Gulick, James McCurdy, and Peter Karpovich.
