Creative Movement in Elementary Education: Anything is Possible
In this session, we explore Creative Movement for the elementary classroom, ages 5-11. We address how dance enhances the educational process with concepts (time, space, energy) that link naturally to other subject areas, including lessons that apply the basic elements of pathways, action verbs, visual art, and music. References to the work of specialists in children's dance and how to prepare future educators will be discussed.
