Teaching PETE Students to Discriminate Performance through Skill Analysis Courses
Research indicates PETE students need “skill analysis classes for developing ability to discriminate performance.” (AAHPERD 2009, session #378) At Utah Valley University we are already meeting these needs through a series of four lower-division courses. After four years we have a good idea about what works and what doesn’t. We will share our knowledge and experiences with the audience. Specific attention will be directed at Skill Analysis I, which focuses on skills appropriately taught PK-6.
