Finally....a Visit From the Office of Civil Rights
Although few universities are in compliance with Title IX, formal complaints to the Office of Civil Rights are extremely rare. This presentation will describe the 4-year effort of one Athletics Committee member and several coaches to achieve the benefits promised under Title IX. In spite of several obstacles, inaccuracies, threats, and delays, this group was successful in identifying clear and significant compliance infractions. The OCR is currently conducting a full investigation of the Athletic Program.
