10 Things Coaches Should Know about Youth Sports Participation
A practical guide for anyone involved in youth sport, this session provides information on youth sports training and answers the question: should children specialize in one sport at an early age to maximize performance, adherence, and fun---or should children participate in a variety of activities? With two seemingly conflicting trends: childhood obesity and increasing sport participation; how do teachers, coaches, and parents apply principles of psychology, sociology, and physiology to do what’s best for kids?
