Healthy Flexibilty: Exercises and Practices for Dancers and Athletes
Often dancers and athletes are expected to exhibit extreme levels of flexibility in their dances/performances/competitions. What is considered unbelievably flexible to most people is standard for competitive dancers/athletes. Learn about evaluating and increasing healthy flexibility based on students' neeeds. Are there individual limits? Do dancers/athletes need to be so extremely flexible that their bodies are endangered? This session will provide teachers and coaches with flexibility exercises/stretches and progressions that protect and prevent injury.
