Teen Dating: Prevention of Abusive Relationships
Teenage dating violence is very prevalent today. One in three high school students will experience violence in their dating relationships. This session will help teachers discuss with their students: healthy vs. unhealthy dating behaviors; recognition and avoidance of abusive relationships; why victims stay; where to go for help and other related topics. Participants will practice several cooperative learning methods that promote student-centered instruction and reflection. Student PowerPoint presentations and videos will be shared.
