Tampa Convention Center: Ballroom D
NASPE/Research/Physical Sciences
Speakers: Virginia Overdorf, William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ; and Jason Jamison, United States Tennis Association, Avondale, AZ
CEU OPPORTUNITY: Application of motor learning principles to adjust skill complexity and develop progressions will be the focus. Modifying equipment (balls/rackets), adjusting practice for most effective learning, and manipulating the environmental conditions (court size, net height) will be demonstrated as examples of best instructional practice through the USTA’s Quick Start Tennis. One can set up the Quick Start court in a gym, on an asphalt space outside, and does not require a regulation size tennis court. Participation.
