Mary Tinetti, M.D., 2009 recipient of the Herbert de Vries Award for distinguished research in aging will speak on "Falls among Older Adults: Research from Prediction and Prevention to Practice and Policy." Dr. Tinetti, Professor of Medicine at Yale University, is an expert on fall injury risk factor identification and prevention. Christian Thompson, Ph.D., recipient of the Outstanding Young Researcher Award, will speak on "Preliminary findings from a community-based falls prevention exercise program."
