The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship among life satisfaction/purpose, self-esteem, and ability to cope with stress in college students. Researchers hypothesized that college students who have purpose and meaning in life also have high self-esteem and engage in positive, active efforts to manage stress. Results from a multiple regression analysis supported the hypothesis that life satisfaction/purpose or self-esteem could predict and contribute to students’ abilities to cope with stress.
