| In the 20th century, African-American dance evolved from street corners to magnificent shows. First, dancers were tapping the Shim Sham, then grooving to Detroit's MOTOWN musical acts. In this exciting workshop, learn the official dance for National Tap Dance Day and choreograph moves to a Motown hit - a session for all dance fans. EXTRA! Shim Sham dancers are invited to perform in the Southern District Kaleidoscope Gala or DOTS - see presenter Nancy Kane for details. Film Clips of Motown dance will be shown. |
