Traditional Barn Dances with Calls & Fiddling |
By dancing to live fiddling and calling, you’ll learn many dances you can teach at school, rec centers and at house parties. Circles, longways, and squares include Big Circle, Portland Fancy, Marching through Georgia, Grand Salute, Virginia Reel, Paul Jones, Seven Step Polka, and others. We will practice calling with methods for success. Adaptations for all abilities are included, along with history and culture. Interdisciplinary collaborations with music teachers are explained. Q&A at end. |
