Name Calling and Peer Perceptions among Urban Elementary School Children

Bullying continues to be an emerging and widespread problem in elementary schools throughout the United States. Elementary level educators of any discipline will benefit from viewing the results of this study that showcases one specific form of bullying: name-calling. This practice has been associated with stereotyping and prejudice. Interactions of this nature are often replayed in the minds of children and can have a horrific impact frequently become part of their personal identity.
