Coordinated School Health: Pennsylvania Model for Improving Student Fitness, Wellness
A wide array of web-based teaching and fitness assessment tools offer school administrators and teachers best-practice approaches to promoting student wellness and achievement. Based on the Coordinated School Health Model developed by the CDC, this program includes validated, research-based parent and youth curriculum modules -- and features interactive tools for users to help reduce obesity and promote health. We will demonstrate the online resources, showcasing customizable forms, fitness and health assessments, use of handheld computers, and other resources available to health and physical activity educators and administrators. Examples of successful implementation of the program in Pennsylvania schools will be provided.
