Promoting Physical Activity in Schools and Communities: A Research Perspective |
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) supports obesity prevention research, with policy implications for physical activity. The Foundation, through Active Living Research (ALR), supports research to identify environmental factors and policies that influence physical activity. Research findings with important policy implications for promoting physical activity in schools and communities have now been published. The purpose of this presentation is to summarize important research findings, with a focus on implications for physical activity promotion. The intended audience is researchers and practicing professionals. The benefit for attendees is to gain an understanding of policy implications for promoting physical activity based on research. |
