Camp Development focusing on Children with Autism and Physical Activity |
The first part of this program is devoted to sharing information related to the success of a summer camp for children with autism. The session will focus on the attainment of camp objectives including: the development of physical fitness and motor skills; positive behavioral change; parent education; and the facilitation of inclusion into the general physical education program. Experiences related to developing collaboration between a university and a local school district will also be discussed. The second part of the presentation is devoted to providing attendees with specific techniques for teaching students with autism in physical activity settings. |
