Sport Violence and Civility |
This workshop on teaching civility through sport will focus on strategies for working with youth and collegiate athletes to enhance sportsmanship and civility in youth and collegiate sport. Speakers will focus on interventions that coaches and teachers can use to reduce violence and enhance the positive outcomes of sports participation. Information will cover the research on the causes of sport violence, as well as tried and true methods used to reduce the incidences of violence, and to enhance the enjoyment of sport competition. Such activities as coaching education, parental involvement, crowd management and team climate will be addressed. |
