Folk Dances for Fun, Fitness and Friendship |
Today in education, we are focused on what children need to know and be able to do in order to compete in a global economy and live healthy, productive lives. With the emphasis on diversity and teaching across the curriculum, folk dance easily fits the bill. In this session participants learn how to meet school or community goals through folk dancing. The presenters, who have taught physical education at the K-12 and university levels, feel strongly that dance must remain an essential component of the physical education curriculum. Dance is the universal language that easily connects with other content areas. |
