Movement, Alignment, Injury Prevention |
Experts in the fields of movement, alignment, health and injury prevention share their research with practical applications. Learn subtle alterations in the body for profound results on technique (and longevity) of a dancer. By assessing the joints, muscles, bones, posture, movement, flexibility, strength and balance, the teacher can design a program to improve all activities. The goals here are to empower dancers to take control of their health through knowledge and injury prevention techniques and foster safe practices among dancers, educators and choreographers. This session addresses National Dance Content Standard #6, “making connections between dance and healthful living.”
