Remembering NDA’s First Heritage Awardee, Margaret H’Doubler |
This lecture-demonstration is devoted to the work of dance education pioneer Margaret H’Doubler. Personal experiences as a H’Doubler disciple are augmented by resources of her methodology, especially for teaching children. Objectives: the functioning of kinesthetic sensitivity in training, building a movement vocabulary, injury prevention and lifelong benefits of developing a strong self-image through improvisation, solo and group choreography. This session is of value to those working as dance specialists, parents evaluating where to enroll their children for dance training and for physical educators and college students who wish to include dance in their programs. |
