Preserving America's Cultural Hertiage Through Dance
This session benefits the educator who wants to teach a unit on western dance styles as part of America's cultural heritage. Line, partner and group dances will be done. The dances taught can be used for 5th-12th grades. The session provides a recreational, cultural and social experience while focusing on established dances such as the Texas Two-step, Teton Mountain Stomp, Cotton-eyed Joe, OXO Reel and others in preserving some of the early dances of America. Any educator interested in dance, recreation or physical activity will be benefitted. Handouts of the dances to be taught will be provided.
