Techniques for Teaching Students with Autism in Physical Activity Settings
Individuals with Autism generally have deficits in social interaction, communication, and behavioral domains. These deficits make the job for physical educators tough, but certainly not impossible. In this presentation, I discuss critical information regarding the disability and what physical educators can do to effectively serve the unique needs of their students with Autism. By focusing on the strengths of this population, physical educators can effectively facilitate both skill acquisition and successful participation in physical activity settings.
