NASPE/Physical Best
Administration of Assessment Protocols for All Students
Teachers will learn how to administer fitness assessments that measure components of health-related physical fitness in aerobic capacity; body composition; muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. The test protocols with adaptations demonstrated and/or practiced will be; PACER test, One-mile run/walk, Walk test, Percent body fat, BMI, curl-up, trunk lift, push-up, back-saver sit-and-reach, and shoulder stretch. Criterion-referenced standards will be used to determine students' fitness levels based on what is optimal for good health. Fitness data can be collected and used to improve and advocate for their physical education programs and meet NASPE Standard 4 and prepare to address NASPE Standard 3.
