Reinvigorating a Sports Management Program: Curriculum, Politics and Student Needs |
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss issues related to the complete revamping of a languishing sports management program at a small New England college. The issues addressed include the steps to a radical curriculum revision and the campus-wide impact of such a revision, the implementation of a thorough experiential education track to provide opportunities for students and reverse student lethargy. This presentation will also address the challenges that many small school sport management programs currently face and possible strategies and solutions. Additionally, initiatives for identifying and meeting student needs in the sports management field will be discussed. |
