Fitness for Females
This session will provide professionals with strategies geared to meet the fitness needs of young women. A brief review of the youth strength and conditioning literature will be provided as the basis for practical applications in athletics and physical education. Attendees will learn about a variety of modes of strength and conditioning training, including progressive resistance training, plyometrics, pilates, circuit training, speed and agility training. Performance enhancement and injury prevention will also be emphasized. Sample exercises will be presented in video clips using various apparatus such as physio balls, medicine balls, resistance bands, jump ropes, hoops, ladders, steps and more.
