Assessing the Affective Domain with Non-Swimmers Who Are Afraid
Many students attending our physical education classes and sports activities experience fear. This phenomenon is especially noticeable in water-related activities since the prevalence of fear of water is heightened among the population in the United States. With accurate knowledge and intervention strategies, physical educators, coaches and wellness professionals can help eliminate these feelings of fear. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss ways educators can reflect upon their current curriculum and instructional practices to best meet the needs of students with who are afraid in water.
