What Can We Say? The Supreme Court and Free Speech |
This spring the United States Supreme Court heard two cases - Frederick v. Morse and Brentwood Academy v. Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association - which could significantly impact the free speech rights of coaches and students in public schools. The audience will learn the outcomes of these cases, rights and restrictions on free speech as contained in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution in public school settings, and the policies and procedures they can put in place in their schools and athletic programs to ensure compliance with the Court rulings and the Constitution. |
