Social Networking Risk Behaviors and Implications for Health Education
This session will allow participants to develop a conceptual knowledge base of social networking sites, activities, and risks taken by young people on the Internet. Researchers will present results of a recent study which focused on observing risk taking behaviors in social networking sites by young people and also survey data collected from over 1200 students to access self reported online behaviors and perceived risks associated with communicating on social networking sites. Participants will also examine teaching strategies and available technologies that address Internet safety issues.
