The Teacher Academy: An Embedded Professional Development Model
Have you been to professional development workshops that left you wanting more? If so, come to this session and find out how to get more from your professional development opportunities. The purpose of this presentation is to share the specifics of the Teacher Academy, a professional development model for in-service physical education teachers. Participants will learn more about the model, which is based on the premise that “one-shot” professional development workshops are not effective in changing teacher behavior. This session will give the participant information on developing, implementing, and evaluating an embedded professional development workshop for physical education teachers.
