NASPE/Physical Best
Teaching Fitness Concepts Within a Skill Based Physical Education Program
This session will provide ideas on how to integrate health related fitness into multiple physical education curriculum models. Participants will learn strategies for using the Elementary and Secondary Physical Best Activity Guides to teach health related fitness concepts within skill themes, sport education, and adventure curriculum models. This active participation session will demonstrate ways to develop student understanding of aerobic endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, body composition, and flexibility while participating in developmentally appropriate activities.
