Perceived and Actual Physical Fitness - Is There a Difference?
This session will discuss current trends in physical fitness and potential psychological influences on our perceived and actual fitness levels. Highlighting the presenter’s published research on the relationship between subjective and objective fitness measurements, the presentation will also include a discussion on variables like gender and age that might moderate the relationship. Session participants will have the opportunity to subjectively assess their own physical fitness level using a standardized instrument, and anonymously compare their own perceived fitness levels to others in a similar demographic.
