Integrating Motor Learning Concepts into Physical Education |
Teaching children to understand the motor learning process, including what kind of practice facilitates learning, which skills transfer positively, etc. is important for the promotion of learning through a lifetime (Rink, 2003). Practitioners need to teach students to independently apply motor learning concepts when learning new skills. During this session, participants will engage in a series of hands-on activities showing them how to modify and sequence tasks to teach developmentally appropriate motor learning concepts. A focus will be placed on the process of integrating concepts and assessment of student understanding. |
