Procedures for Funding and Building Recreation Trails on Campuses
Steps to acquire funding and construction permits to build an exercise and transportation path to and around educational institutions will be provided. Participants will learn where to apply for federal and state trail grants, how to obtain environmental approvals, and the approximate costs of building trails that can be shared by students, faculty, and the community. Construction materials and timelines for building trails will also be discussed. Community, economic, and health benefits of trail construction and a status of trail construction across the United States will be presented.
