Physical Best, FITNESSGRAM and Goal Setting |
Goal setting strategies are effective motivational tools for helping children and adults comply with daily physical activity routines. Pedometers, logs, and heart rate monitors have been successfully integrated into physical education classes to monitor physical activity levels both inside and outside of the gymnasium. This session highlights connections between Physical Best activities, FITNESSGRAM 8.0 software, and effective goal setting strategies for today’s quality physical education programs. Activities from the Physical Best Activity Guides, information from the Physical Best Instructor’s Book, and examples from FITNESSGRAM 8.0 will be demonstrated, and linked to research that explains how and why goal setting works. |
