Teaching Adventure Skills in the Gym
This is a one-day workshop designed to teach participants how to perform and teach basic adventure skills in a gymnasium setting with an emphasis on safety. Content includes: * Adventure without ropes activities * Swinging and traversing activities on gym ropes * Prusik climbing * Knot tying * Belay techniques * Climbing skills * Climbing on innovative equipment. Opportunity to examine a variety of equipment for teaching adventure in the gym. Curriculum materials for use in conducting programs will be distributed. Certificate of completion and CEUs offered. Fee charged includes curriculum materials, transportation (if necessary). Pre-registration required.
