Gender Interactions Between Teachers and Students in Elementary Physical Education |
For the past 35 years, research has shown that teachers of all subjects, both male and female, have more interactions with male students as compared to female students. Recently, there has been a call for single-sex physical education to allow female students more teacher attention. However, a few recent studies have shown that, in physical education, teachers are beginning to be more gender equitable in their interactions with students. This program is for teachers and coaches interested in gender equity in schools. Results from a recent study about gender interactions on the elementary school level will be shared. |
