Wellness Aspects in College Female Athletes
Collegiate athletes have unique needs in regards to wellness. The overall experience of being a collegiate athlete should encompass the whole person and provide an opportunity for a healthy approach to life. Student-athlete wellness can be affected by many aspects of college life such as: stress, time management, eating and sleeping habits, training, weight control, relationship issues and family situations. This presentation will focus on the results of a study on wellness behaviors among female college athletes and what areas could and should be addressed by coaches and athletic administration in order to provide the best experience for their athletes.
